Chevy Silverado Cruise Control Tom 8-1-02
MY son bought a 1990 Chevy Silverado 4x4 extended cab p/u. We've been trying to diagnose the cruise control. We've located many books, hayes, chilton's etc, but had no success locating the cruise control schematic. The component which seems to be the processor for is is made by MTI and shows #s 2252a441. It has 7 blade style pins that goes into a junction box under the dash betwee the brake and parking brake pedals. Oddly, 6 of the 7 positions in the junction box have continutuity to location E on the wire bundle plug under the hood, that plugs into the cruise control module on the firewall. Can any one shed any light on where to get this part of the schematics? We've tried all the obvious places... Thanks.

The most common problem with the GM cruise control is a broken wire right where the wire comes out of the turn signal handle and goes into the steering column. Have you tried that?

Do you have tow package??? I have had problems at rear there is spike regulor keeping shorts when backing boat etc into water, loses sense to brake light switch. Remove plug and replug into spike box. Usually in one of panals at rear inside.
