Brake job Jeff 8-30-13
It all started when my calipers started locking up. Took it into a shop they sold me on new calipers, rotors and pads. Left the shop with the same problem after only going about a mile down the road. Back to the shop where they tell me I need a new proportion valve, master cylinder and booster. My system is in a 1992 Bounder and runs off the power steering pump. Just wondering if anyone has access to a rate book that tells how many working hours I should be charged?

The book you are looking for is the "Chilton Labor Guide Manual" It's available on line at "Chilton Estimating" and requires a subscription or you may be able to find it at your local library.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, everything turned out OK. After replacing the entire braking system and the guy doing the work admitting he had no idea how to fix it other than throw a bunch of new parts at it, he only charged me 3 hours labor.
Not sure what the bill would have been if it had been diagnosed sooner but just so I can sleep I'll tell myself atleast I got all new parts out of the deal. Thanks again

Can the sliders on an ABS breaks be lubricated without taking the wheels off?
