Replacing old Dometic furnace Alan 2-12-13
The old Dometic 19,000 btu furnace in my 1989 KIT Espre has died and needs replaced. What suggestions does anyone have? The intake/exhaust ports on the side of the trailer run horizontal, and it appears other brands run vertical. I really don't want to cut a hole in the side of the trailer.

With out the trailer in our shop I can only give general advice.

We use decorative aluminum or Stainless sheet metal to cover the change to a Suburban intake and exsauhst. It does mean changing and enlarging the hole in the side of your trailer.

With either measurements or model # any RV parts shop should be able to put you in an equivilant Suburban or Atwood furnace. Bu I think the suburban will be an easier retro fit.

Good Luck
