Pilot keeps going out Kevin 1-17-13
I have a hydroflame model 8012 that I installed in my popup trailer. Ever since it has been in there I have been unable to get the pilot light to stay lit. The furnace will work great until the thermostat shuts it off. The next time the fan turns on the blower will blow cold air because the pilot has gone out. I know there is a pilot control and I have played with that but to no avail. I have changed the thermocouple a couple of times and have just about taken the whole thing apart and put it back together again. Any ideas?
Re: Pilot keeps going out Keith 1-18-13
Hi Kevin, Make sure the thermocouple is completely engulfed in the flame, check the pilot tube for kinks or defects, is the vent sealed where it meets the furnace, make sure the burn plate and pilot gaskets are not sucking air with gaps/ missing pieces. The gas valve could have a weak magnet or other defect and the valve needs replacing. Good luck
