Ford fuel system Don 1-9-13
I own a 1986 RV on a ford e350 chassis with a 460 cu. in. motor. All of a sudden I developed a fuel leak, but it's not coming from any of the typical fuel lines. It seems to be leaking from a canister that is positioned on the chassis on the right side, under the passanger seat. Does anyone know anything about these canisters. There are two of them. It's very hard to get too so I can't even see if there are p/n's on them.

They are probably Carbon Purge Canister.

They are never suposed to have liquid fuel in them.

It is very likely that you have a purge or vent line that has gone bad, this allows you to over fill the fuel tank. This then allows the fuel tank to Siphon into the carbon canisters.

It is also posible there is a damaged fuel tank allowing the same thing, but it is doubtful.

The fuel leak is a little dangerous.
