Service on the road Steve Mundschau 11-11-09
I bought a new Montana fifth wheel and am living in it at our RV Park.
I had some problems with it and when I asked the dealer if they had someone that would come on site they said I would have to tow it in. I do not have a truck at present and to tow it to the dealer and back would cost $500 round trip. For some minor problems this would be too expensive. I have a factory warranty and bought an extended warranty.
Any idea how I can get "on site" service and get it covered under the warranty when dealers do not provide that service??
Re: Service on the road BUBBA THE BUS TECH 11-12-09
SOME Extended warranties provide PARTIAL payment for the travel portion of on site repairs. We generaly tell the customer to have the repairs done and pay the bill, then we recover what the factory will pay. This generally works out to 30% to 60 % of actual on site repair costs. So you can find some one to tow your unit in ( a freind at the park maybe) you can cut a deal like I describe above and pay for over half or you can have your trailer warranty voided as you are living in it. Trailers are not warrantied for full time ocupation. If Montana or the ext warranty company find out, no more warranty. Good Luck
