Excalibur 8500-III Hydroflame won't run Virginia 11-5-09
My 8500-III Hydroflame was working. The next time I used it, kept turning on and off and blowing cold. Now does not turn on or off - flat-lined. It's as if no power. Battery fully charged. Everything else in trailer works. Fuse appears OK, unless there's another one I don't know about. Had circuit board tested OK. What should I try next, thermostat? or something else more obvious first.
Appreciate your assistance,
Virginia

Hi Virginia, First make sure all connections are clean and secure. Could be the circuit breaker on the front of the furnace is tripped, the thermostat is bad, or the timer relay, or motor is bad. Hard to tell from here, but check for a popped circuit breaker first, since you say the fuse is OK. Then disconnect and hold the two blue wires on the furnace side together for 30 sec's or so and see if it works. If it does, change the t'stat. Check for 12V on the positive wire (red) to the motor, with the t'stat up, if 12V and it's not running, probably a bad motor. Good luck.
