Re: auxilery switch BUBBA THE BUS TECH 11-4-09
Aux switch not working. Some units call the house battery aux and some call the "boost" function that conects the engine start and house battery. Assumning we are talking about the Battery shut off. If we are talking about a small rocker switch in the wall it operates a solinoid near the batteries. You will need to trace back the main power lead from the battery to this and Trouble shoot this. The large shut off turn type switch actually turns off the power. Both types have breakers and fuses between the switch or solinoid and draws. You need to check power out from the switching device. If none check the power in put to the solinoid or switch, there may be none while on, if so you have a bad supply, either a resistance/bad conection or a bad battery. Many bad batteries will light a test light or give good voltage to a meter but have no capacity to supply a load. So we move to the 12 volt distribution, checking power on both sides of each fuse etc. Finally check the ground conections to the battery, these are as important as the supply or positive but usually over looked. Good Luck
