Hydro Flame FA 7290 D needs to be replaced...with what? Cindy 10-25-09
Our mid-1980's Coachmen 22-ft travel trailer has a Hydro Flame FA 7920 D furnace. This past summer, the blower would start and run, but the flame wouldn't ignite (no clicking sounds, even). We've done some simple trouble-shooting (thermostat is on, supply line has gas, blower is clean, sail switch moves,...) but can't figure out what to do next. We've looked at replacement parts, but most are for the 7920-II. How different is that model from our older one? If we end up replacing our furnace completely, what current Hydro Flame model would be a reasonable substitute?

Hi Cindy,

I just had to replace my FA7912, which is essentially the same furnace with 12,000 BTU instead of your 20,000 BTU. I found a very helpful dealer who first tried to help me find the elusive part I needed (the burner head). When that was not available any longer, she found a replacement - 7912 Series II for $420.

So, you might want to try her. Her name is Kim Chase. Her email address is brilliantimages@yahoo.com

I'm not associated with Kim in any way aside from being a customer.
