Have a 1990 Bronco II with a 2.9 v6 & automatic. It idles fine, but when I try to accelerate it spotters and boggs down like I'm spraying carb cleaner down the intake. Won't get above 3000 RPM. Have changed cap & rotor, plugs & wires, MAP, O2 and fuel regulator. Any ideas what could be the cause?
The cat looked good on the state inspection. I also changed the fuel filter. It has an MSD ignition system. I put a timing light on it & it looks a little erratic. The old fuel pressure reg was leaking fuel into the intake through the vac line. With the new fuel reg installed I don't see a difference when I disconnect the vac line.
Try putting gas line anti freeze in the tank you could have gotten bad gas to muck water in the gas causes same effects even old gas will do it ocatne buster might be a good idea good luck
