HydroFlame Furnace Wiring Dave 8-3-09
I took the whole unit out of my camper about a month ago and took it into a mechanic to replace the electric motor. Now I have it back and trying to put it back in. I hooked up the negative and positive correctly, but I am not sure about the blue wires and the thermostat wires. The manual says "3. connect the two blue wires to the thermostat leads using 22-18 gauge stand. wire." My question is does one of the two blue wires connect to one of the thermostat wires (white) and the other blue wire connect to the thermostat wire (yellow)? does it matter which goes to which? I thought both the thermostat wires were hooked to the same blue wire... but that does not make sense to me. Thoughts?

Hi Dave, Usually.... but not always... because it's an RV... it's a red and a white wire from the thermostat and two blue from the furnace. White or Yellow are usually ground on furnaces. See what color wires are coming off of your thermostat. It doesn't matter which wire goes to which blue as long as they are the correct ones from the t'stat. Different RV companies do different wiring so it's hard to say from here... hope this helps some tho'. Good luck

Thanks Keith... So the Yellow or white wire from the thermostat should not be connected to either the blue nor the red one coming from the thermostat? So the yellow one should be grounded in a different location? or with the negative wire for my power source?

Hi Dave, Yes one should be connected to one blue and one to the other, if those are the colors that come from the T'stat. Or try taking the two smallest gage wires in the group, usually solid copper not strand, and hook one to each blue wire. If you have a solid copper small gage wire connected to something else it is probably incorrect. Good luck.
