Onan Microquiet 4000: Electrical issue Rich 7-22-09
The generator runs fine. when we test at the fuse panel for power the multimeter reads 120volts but nothing in the camper works. If we test all of the outlets the meter reads 120volts but when we shut the generator down and plug the camper in to a landline everything works fine. Any ideas what is going on?? Thanks.

OK We missed something in the basic trouble shoot. The 110 volt power out put from the genset is not running anything but stills reads 110 volts when tested. These are two oposite results. The 110 volt supply needs to be tested at the same outlet while the system is loaded. Use a toaster or hair dryer in one plug and the tester in the other plug of the same outlet. I think you will find 0 voltage. Then you need to test at the gen while loading system. This should show if the gen set is good. Good Luck
