Ive been blowing fuses in my ford escort and know its something to do with the wires for the fuel pump. it blows the fuse and my car dies. if i spray starting fluid into the air intake it starts and runs without the fuse. is there a manual i could use for locating a possible short???
What you need is a cheap manual Like a haynes or chilton that has wiring diagrams. Most of these manuals assume you know at least a little about reading the diagrams. It will have basic instructions on how to t shoot wiring problems. Or you could ask advice here. But you still need to know where the fuel pump relay is and how to test the wiring from there. Good Luck
There's a recall on the wiring to the fuel pump on you vehicle. Call your local Ford dealer with your VIN number and see if it's due. Parts and labor are free and it will probably fix your problem or the dealership will repair the associated (with the recall) wiring fault.
