Post New Message The 7.5V usually Red wire is the current from the transformer on the upper control board and GRD is a Ground so a voltmeter between the two should give you 6.5 to 8 volts. The potentiometer (the slide temp adj) is not very durable as it is mostly exposed and easily contaminated. You can try to clean - remove the cover (with all off) and use compressed air like keyboard cleaner, move up and down several time while cleaning. Probably have a 50/50 chance of improving. If not, replace - not very expensive. I dont know if a generic analog will work - havent tried as the replacement is cheap - like $40. or so --- I can provide one if you cant find. William
