My overhead air is a duo-therm. Fan works, even the heat, but when i switch to cool, it seems to seize up with a heavy hum, and if i don't turn it off it will blow a fuse. Is their a fix?, or is it headed for the curb? Thanks. Brian.

Most likely the compressor is shot. It will be cheaper to tip that one off your unit and install new rather than fix. Even with the install labour. Good Luck
