Queston on new Atwood 8525 IV Scott 6-7-09
I recently purchased a new Atwood 8525 IV furnace to replace the ailing 8525 II that was in the trailer. The install went well with no real issues. The new furnace runs much quieter, and the blower is considerably stronger.

Anyway, to my questions. The first is that I used 3 punchouts - two on the far left and right at the rear, and in the front right on the right side (from inside the trailer, so the same side as the circuit board). There is hardly any space at all on the left side (again, from the rear) to be able to twist on the hose mounting piece, so instead I used the punchout at the rear left. Upon looking again at the manual, I stumbled on a line that said that one punchout per side should be used. Is this going to cause any issues? They are only about 6" apart, and given how the fan blows air over the heat exchange tubing, just doesn't seem to me that this should make a difference.
My second question, which might be related to the first, is about the operation cycle of the furnace. This thing seems to really crank a lot more than the old one (good thing). The thing that it is doing though is that it will fire and run like normal, then after maybe 5 minutes or so the burner will turn off, but the fan will keep going. After a couple minutes, the burner will kick back on. I'm not sure if this new furnace is smarter, and is doing this by design to save gas but still circulation the residual heat left in the heat exchanger, or if it is overheating and cutting out until it cools off. If it's overheating, could that possibly be due to me not using the punchout on the left side? If that is the case, I've been wanting to install another duct anyway, so this isn't that big of an issue.

Thanks.

I should add that when this occurs, I don't get a blinking LED. The furnace responds as it should when there is a heat call, or when the target temp is hit - turns on and off as it should.

Is Atwood 8525 a single stage or a dual
stage furnace?
