Duo Thermo not cold Jeff 4-6-09
Hello, Last summer while out West my overhead AC unit on my motor home switched on and off three times very quickly then stayed off. I have some mechanical/electrical background and was able to trouble shoot the problem to a broken wire at the thermostat. After repairing the wire I was able to turn the unit back on. Everything seemed ok at first, compressor running, fan blowing, but after about five minutes no cold air. Any ideas. Thanks, Jeff

The three times on and off quickly like that is very harmfull to the compressor. But if the compressor runs and there is no cooling it means there something seriously wrong inside. As long as this is not a system that also has a heat pump it will probably be to expensive to fix in comparison to replacing it. Good Luck

May a 1993 Duo-therm penquin series with heater be serviced ( R22 ) My compressor will run by bypassing the relay, but does not cool
