I have a 2006 Vortex 21 foot toyhauler w/ a Onan Genset in it, I think it is a 4000. not sure.
anyway, I go to hit the prime button and it just clicks, so what we have to do sometimes is take off the fuel supply line from the carburator and siphon prime it until gas is up to the fuel pump. And then hit the prime button, then let off the prime button and reconnect it to the carburator. then it will start up and run for sometimes an hour and sometimes 5 minutes. usually the idle is "hunting" for the first 5 minutes of run time. But like I said it will die eventually.
I recharges the battery just fine and will run the microwave and A/C just fine but it dies eventually. I'm just tired of sucking on the fuel line to get it started, especially before breakfast. I've checked the air filter it is clean and it has fresh gas in it.
It seems to stay running longer when I take the access cover off it and open the access door on the toyhauler, like it runs cooler when I do that.
Any suggestions will help.

Sounds like a stopped up filter or a pin hole in the hose allowing fuel to not be pumped to carb---My Generator had a recall about changing the fuel line--from Gasohol eating the line that was installed---line collapses..changed it---mine starts and runs fine now---
rich in Va.
First get aux. fuel can.
Remove fuel line from fuel pump at lower left at bottom of gen. set plug ruber fuel line to prevent leak and fire.
Install new fuel line into temp. tank start gen. set.
Should have been giving you a trouble code #36
Runs normal replace old fuel line.
Fuel pump has a max. presure spec. 6 lbs. min. 2 lbs.
