Hydra Flame 8531 Furnace D.A. Linn 1-25-09
I have a Hydra Flame model 8531 furnace that will not fire. The blower works fine, but there isn't any heat and I don't hear the igniter clicking to fire the furnace. I just replaced the batteries with new ones, since the old ones were going bad. Any ideas where to look for the problem?

Hi D.A. Could be a few things. Try removing and re install the plug on the PC board and look at it for debris like lint/dirt. If no go, the next thing I'd check, is remove the PC Board and take it to an RV shop and have it tested. Shouldn't cost you anything, unless the board is bad. The board is usually the culprit when no spark. If it's ok, check the igniter for proper clearance of 1/8th inch from the burner. I'd almost bet it's the board tho' without being able to check it out myself. Good luck!
