You will need to pull the sending unit and identify if has a ford part number on it first, just cause it is a ford chassis does not mean they used a ford gas tank,2nd unless you tell them it is a f53 chassis that is the answer you always get i have had to get new sending units for customers before they are very expensive they also will need to know how many ports are on it (so they know if has a generator or second tank) hpoe this helps call me if i can help 503-760-1363 sun - thurs
Re: gas tank sending unit dave 1-4-09
Yes it has a i have told them it is a cutaway chasie. i took what is left of the unit everywhere. as soon as they see it they say good luck, it is bolted in the top of the tank. it does not have the ring that holds it in like every other sending unit. it has three ports out of the top. one is the main line the other two are vents. i have my own shop and am ready to just make one. hopefully it would work. i have a parts ford e-350 bus but it is fuel injected, it has a 40gal tank in the rear so i am not sure if i can use it in any way.

At most you might have better fuel pressure, pretty much a pump is a pump the only stopper you might have is the length to the bottom of the tank good luck
