The problem most of you folks are having is the heater core is clogging even after you have forward and back flushed it. I recommened changing the heater core. Someone posted how to remove it on here the easy way and thats what I did now I have hot air blowing all the time.
Back flushing is a good idea, but I've also found in my 35 years as a mechanic that many times it's as simple as not having enough coolant in the radiator. When the level drops, the first thing to empty is the heater core. No coolant, no heat. It's that simple. There's also a thing called a heater control valve, located in-line between the engine and the heater core. It's connected to the slide control on your dash by means of a small bicycle cable or electrical relay. It can freeze up in the closed position, freezing you out...lol. Check both before going through all the trouble of a flush.
