I just aquired a 1988 holiday rambler imperial. I know nothing about it. It was given to me by a close family friend. It has 33,000 original miles, and I know it has a ford gas engine, I think its a 460. My question is, it ran fine last year when he last started it. Now it just starts with starting fluid, runs a little bit then stalls once the starting fluid is used up. So its definately a fuel problem. I dont know where to find the pump or filters that may be clogged or jammed. Can someone tell me what they think it may be. Its definately not getting fuel to the carb. I dont have manuals on the motor, but have for everything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email me, I dont get on the PC much
The Bad news is, You will have to crawl under the sucker to find your fuel filter. It's in the fuel line somewhere's between the tank and the Carb.
The good news is they don't cost gobs of Loot to get a new one, check that first. If it still does the same, go for rebuilding the carb, which is ruff but do-able May need to flush the tank, but only if the new filter cloggs soon after the change.
Hope it helps, if I were there I'd come by and do er for ya.
