My '87 GMC 454 based RV coughs while driving up grades or accelerating to overtake.
Three years ago, the exact same symptoms were fixed by replacing both fuel filters. The distributor cap and all 8 wires were also changed as a first erroneous attempt at solving the problem.
This time, no luck. I then replaced the air filter, all 8 plugs, and even tried loosening the fuel tank cap to equalize pressure...Some people point to my fuel pump but does a fuel pump take three years and thousands of miles to die after showing first signs of wear ?
I've also heard of fuel pressure regulator; what's that and where is it located ?
Thanks in advance,
Jean Marc
