Duo Therm Trips breaker Steve 8-6-08
My ducted Duo Therm unit doesnt seem to be cooling properly and drips some water from the vent on the unit. This past weekend tripped the outside breaker. I turned the unit off and the breaker would not rest until I turnned the inside breaker off. After a whiel when the unit was turned back on water poured from the vent. Any ideas?

Sure sounds like the evaporator is freezing up solid causing a high amperage on the compressor then tripping the breaker. When it thaws, the water overwhelms the drain tray. Make sure ALL the cold air is going into the ducts - escaping air recirculating to the coil will prompt a freezup. Foil tape any cold air leakage. In high humidity always run on high fan speed. WH
