Dometic Fridge Not Lighting Boyd 6-23-08
I just put in a new ignitor box. The guy who I purchased the trailer from had just replaced the ignitor (he thought that would fix the problem). Now it sends the spark every 2-3 seconds but it does not light till 7 seconds or so after it starts but it makes a sound like wind which is blowing itself out. It will then do this again 2-3 times till it stops and the "check" light comes on. It WILL light with a lighter. Seems to me that with it taking so long to ignite that the gas build up then lighting just blows out the flame. Any ideas on how to fix it?

A healthy igniter should spark rapidly with the proper voltage. If it lights and burns OK with a lighter, then the burner and jet are OK, The electrode should be positioned 3/8" from the burner and sparking down to the burner, not up to the thermocouple. Good luck. WH
