Have a Coleman roof top 13,500 btu with heat strip. The unit will run about 2 hours and then the coil will freeze up. I think there is a sensor to shut off the compressor when the coil gets too cold. If this is true, how do I correct the problem?
HI JIM YES THERE IF A SENSOR TO SHUT IT DOWN, SOUNDS LIKE YOU MY BE LOW ON FREON. DOSE THE EVAPORATER SWEAT AND IS YOUR AIR FLOW THROUGH THE COILS GOOD. CHECK YOUR COMPRESSOR AND SEE IF IT IS RINNING HOT. THE BONNET ON COLEMAN ROOF TOPS COMES OFF VERY EASY 2-4 NUTS AND IT'S OFF. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO RESTRICTION OF AIR. THE COVER ON THE INSIDE COMES OF VERY EASY TO 2 SCREWS AND IT'S OFF. MAKE SURE YOU SHUT THE POWER DOWN BEFORE DOIND ANY OF THE CHECKS YOU CAN UNPLUG THE UNIT ON THE RIGHT SIDE (WIGHT PLUG)GOOD LUCK
