Dometic RM2811 (1994) JP 6-6-08
My Dometic RM2811 won't power up at all. I cannot get anything on the 'eyebrow' board either. I have checked and replaced the 3 & 5 amp fuses on the circuit board on the back of the refidge. I have checked the fuses on the command board inside also and everything there looks OK. I have tested the voltage while the battery is hooked up to the camper but I get 'jumping' readings and then drops to '00' over and over when I test the 12v dc or anything on the circuit board. It won't work with electrical power and of course - I cannot get the gas to work without power either. Is there anything else I can check for voltage?
Re: Dometic RM2811 (1994) BUBBA THE BUS TECH 6-6-08
If I understand correctly you have a ground or 12 volt power supply problem to the fridge. You need to check to see if the ground is good. I forget and run in circles almost every time. The easiest way to check ground is to measure from a power source to the battery and from the same power source to the fridge ground. Both readings should be the same. Next after having proven your ground test for 12 v at the fridge, if none trace the wires back to the fuse box or run a test lead to power the fridge. If the test lead activates the fridge run a new wire to the fridge. If it doesn't fix it have the board tested. Good Luck

Bubba, thanks for your response. I have checked the voltage on the power plug where the 12v power cord goes - didn't get any reading there. I'm going to check the command board today and see how that goes. I already purchased a new circuit board but I didn't want to install it if that wasn't the problem. I won't be able to have my circuit board tested because my trailer is in WI and I live in MN.

I've been encountering similar problems for the past 4-years with my '94 Dometic RM2811 frig...what did you end up doing to correct your problem JP?
