Sealing around roof vents & around windows Vern 5-11-08

Vern, depending on what type of roof you have is what kind of roof coating to use. If you have a rubber roof, then Dicor self leveling lap sealant works well (be sure the roof is clean). If it is a metal roof (aluminum), then there is a sealant called Plas-T-Cote Alkyd Fibered roof coating. It works extremely well on the metal style roofs and stays flexible for quite some time. This helps to prevent cracking. As far as the windows go, you should use 100% Silicone Sealant or DAP. Do not use the acrylic latex as it will crack and not stay flexible. Also use no tub and tile surround sealant either. You should be able to pick all of these items up at your local rv dealership.
