I just bought a 96 Sonoma, s10 extended cab with a bad motor and trans. How difficult is it to swap in a 350 or v6 with a 700r4?

Go with the 5.7 or 5.0....im starting a 86 S10 to a V8 soon.... i was told the v6 swap was a waste..

ABSOLUTELY dont mess around with the V-6. A 350 will slide right in and if you use a truck trans (not car or van) you wont even have to change the trans mount or driveline. The truck trans is about 2 1/2" longer. I have a '94 and i had most of the parts to start with but the trans i had was outta a van so it cost me $80 to have the driveline lengthened. It was well worth the $130 for the HEDMAN headers cause it made the swap a sinch. also spend the extra $$ and buy the gm short style water pump, youll appreciate the extra room at the radiator...
