195 ford e350 ambulance problem dan potenza 4-1-08
I have a 95 e350 with a 7.3L diesel. I have noticed an oily fluid in coolant resevoir. could this be tranny fluid? I have read about tranny heat lines that run thru radiator. Has anyone experienced this? what is entailed in this repair? is there any other fluid I should consider? Thanks

Hard to tell without smelling it, but it doesn't necessarily have to be tranny fluid. It could be engine oil from the oil cooler or from a leaky head gasket.

First and easiest thing to do is a pressure test for the cooling system and see if there are any significant leaks. You could also take a sample of the coolant to your local diesel repair shop and have it sent for chemical analysis to determine what exactly is in the coolant.

Hope that helps!
