My wife and I are selling our home and intend to buy a 35'- 40' Fifth Wheel with an artic insulation package. We'll need to spend a couple of more winters in Wyoming and are thinking of buying an older Teton or Holiday Rambler or something of that ilk to fulltime in. The internet websites advertising trailers seem to be dominated by dealers (which we're trying to avoid). We have a Dodge Ram 3500 Dually with a Cummins Turbo Diesel.
Any advice, hints, warnings etc. would be VERY much appreciated! Thanks.
I hear you on the dealers cornering the market. We found this website which is actually for an RV park in Palm springs. However scroll down and you will see some very reasonably priced 5th wheels for sale buy owner:
We also are selling and buying a 5th wheel to fulltime in. After all our research we found that Carraige, Carri-Lite has the best insulation pkg in the business.....with the astro foil added it is R-31 in roof, R-17 in walls, and R-24 in floor. They also have the most storage that I have seen. Quality is top notch. We are looking at the 36XTRM5, it has 5 tip outs. We live in British Columbia and need a good arctic pkg.
