Overseas Scams Doug 3-3-05
An overseas buyer wants to buy my Class A with a wire transfer (no checks)payment plusshipping costs ($12,650) I am nervous about scams. Any experience?
Re: Overseas Scams ED 3-7-05
In my opinion, anyone who wants to buy from overseas has not looked locally in their own area, or is desperate for that particular model. (Europeans have RV's also). I would suggest they come to you, buy the RV, and arrange their own shipping.

No sense in opening up a host of problems that you don't need. Put the burden on them.

I also have an overseas buyer who wants to buy my Class A with a wire transfer having only seen pictures. He is buying it as a "surprise" for his father who is relocating to Michigan. He says his father had an RV in the UK but it was too costly to ship it to the US. His emails have been written in broken English and I just got another email inquiry from someone else with almost identical language. Has anyone heard of anything going on like this?

Here is a guy who sent me a $47,000 cashier check from Uk and my local police dept. has it because it was counter fit.
Beware!! If I hadnt have checked it out I would be out my 5th as well as oweing the bank $47,000.00

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, my client suddenly felt sick and we decided to hold on with the transaction, but now he is back on his feet and has instructed me to carry on with the transaction. He instructed me to inform you that payment will get to you on or before middle of next week, he advised that you should make the title papers and the 5th wheel ready for pick up when payment gets to you. Please consider your 5th wheel sold to my client since payment has been confirmed and sent. I advise you to keep me posted as soon as you receive your payment on or before middle of next week as assured. Please bear with us on the delay and thank you for your patience. Few more days will not be too much for a sick one,I plead with you, since we have already started and be rest assured that it must be there unfailingly as informed.
Your honesty, understanding and co-operation will be highly appreciated,
Thanks,
David Brown

There is an FAQ on this site with some things to look for. Always believe that, if it is too good to be true, then it probably is a SCAM.
