Hello Fellow Chatters,
I will be a newbie full-timer sometime between now and November of 2005. I would appreciate any advice. Specifically...I plan to purchase a 37ft. Open Road fifth wheeler. The GVWR is 14,225...dry hitch weight is 2,225 and the total dry weight is 11,650. I am trying to figure out if a 350/3500 size truck with a dually and a diesel engine would be adequate to tow this thing. I have been told that a commerical truck would have better resale value, if we decide to sell it and am wondering if I should go up to that level. Anybody have any experiece with any of this stuff. All comments would be helpful. Thanks...BK

I understand what you are tring to decide. It really is up to you. Personally after looking at 5th wheelers, I opted to buy a moterhome. Which my family and I find easier. I suggest going to a local RV dealer and buying a DVD called Trailer Life 101. This will give you all the info on what kind of truck to get, plus info on the pros and cons of 5th wheeles. Good luck.
