|Re: Using your Computer on the road by Greg|
I'm also thinking about taking my business out on the road. I've been researching and found that many higher end RV parks have 802.11b wireless access, which will work with any computer that has a wifi card installed. Can't speak to the speed/quality of connection, which can get brought down by buildings and trees and if there are many users.
I've also been looking at satellite internet for those times away from the parks, and found it to be pricey. The service is $50-100/mo and the dishes start at $2500-3000, more for a fancy motorized, self-locating one. The cheapest I've found is http://www.mobileinternet.bz/, which are manually directed dishes and $50/mo service with DirectWay. These don't require a technician to install.
