Towing Capacity by Glenn Davis
Post New Message Our '03 Winnebago 29B's owners' manual says the towing capacity of the "factory installed hitch" is 3500 lbs. However, the hitch itself is stamped 5000 lbs. I would like to tow a 1700 lb. trailer (w/ brakes) with a 2500 lb. car on it (total of 4200 lbs.). According to the sticker on the door, I should have almost 6000 lbs. of towing capacity with the vehicle. Which is correct, the sticker (6000), the hitch (5000) or the owners' manual (3500)? What would I have to do to get to 4200 lbs capacity?
