|Re: Unitrol Water Heater Gas Valve Questions by jeff brandon|
|I have a robertshaw unitrol gas valve that's pilot light keeps going out. i noticed the last time i relighted it, that i didn't need to hold down the pilot light button before it ignited. so, when the light goes out, there is the odor of gas. evidently, if the pilot light valve is always open, then the main flame pulls the gas away from the pilot line and it goes out. does this seem like a possibility to you?
i might add that robertshaw had a recall on this very model, r110rtsp, but was not included in the recall.
